We are a company that designs and handcrafts its fishing rods in Italy, pouring heart and soul into each piece, so that the fishermen who use them can experience intense, passionate, and engaging moments, creating a personal and lasting connection between them and us.

We don’t just want to promote the product, but also pique the curiosity and directly engage the angler, appealing to their sensory experience and emotional sphere. The goal is to motivate, provoke, and inspire, while seeking what is truly useful, enjoyable, and exciting for them. The person is at the heart of our work, which is why it doesn’t matter how long the design and production of our equipment takes, what matters is meeting the expectations of our partners.

We like to say that our workshop is like a tailor’s shop, where each fishing rod is custom-made like a high-fashion garment. The best unidirectional carbon fibers on the market are selected, with resin formulations specifically designed for our production. In addition to layering the fabrics longitudinally and transversely, we also place fibers at an angle, thereby achieving responsiveness and numerous different actions in each individual rod blank. Thanks to this special craftsmanship, specific ‘specialized’ blanks are obtained for each type of fishing, making it very difficult for the unique aspects to be replicated or copied.

100% Made in Italy

Made in Italy is synonymous worldwide with quality, style, and unmatched excellence. For Artico, Made in Italy means combining artisanal production methods with the best technologies available on the market. Artico rods are extremely different from mass-produced products because they are handmade and customized according to the preferences and requests of each individual customer. Owning an Artico rod means owning a unique and inimitable product. Artico creates small masterpieces and is proud to produce them in Italy, exclusively in its laboratories in Pordenone. Artico is 100% Made in Italy.
Not least is the valuable collaboration with our champions, who are always ready to provide us with suggestions and feedback through repeated and rigorous fishing tests on various competition fields.

Our history

The company proudly draws inspiration from values such as seriousness, honesty, and commercial fairness—concepts that are the foundation of its business. The ambition is to be regarded by customers, suppliers, employees, and fishermen as a reliable and trustworthy partner with whom to establish long-term business relationships.
The structure is lean and extremely flexible, ready to meet sudden and unexpected needs.
Nearly 50 years of activity, constant research in design, innovative production systems, and a particular focus on the evolution of the materials used distinguish the wide range of products from the ARTICO company, where the father, Sergio, passed on to his children, Silva, Giuliana, and Antonio, a deep passion and unique experiences gained in the field.

Artico is a family-run company founded in 1976, named after its founder Sergio Artico, and it remains independent and controlled by the original family group.

1976   Sergio Artico, along with his sister Silvia Artico and his daughter Giuliana, founded the company

1978   Inspired by racing cars, Sergio built the first carbon fishing rod in the world: the Boomerang, revolutionizing the world of fishing rods

1987-1990   The children, Silva and Antonio, respectively the eldest and the youngest of the three, join the company

1992   Sergio invents the “CYLINDRICAL” structure, creating a historic series: the Magica Cilindrica

1993   The new EuroArtico system for compacting unidirectional pre-preg carbon is introduced into production

2001   The production, which was previously limited to telescopic and jointed rods, expands to include the first one-piece rods for spinning

2005   The first collaborations and imports with major foreign brands begin, becoming the exclusive distributors in Italy for the Japanese brands Sasame and Shout!

2007   The VA.RA.M is exclusively introduced into the construction systems of fishing rods

2008   A collaboration with Ferrari begins for a limited series production of rods

2009   Production of rods for vertical fishing techniques begins

2011   Sergio, in collaboration with the production company, develops a new material called Dynanotex, exclusively for Artico, with features never before tested

2011-2013   Production expands, and the first lines for the Big Game market are developed: built with Dynanotex, the “Apache” line for trolling and drifting, thanks to the processing and technical characteristics of the material, was the first blank without the “Spine Effect”

2013-2019   The continuous pursuit of innovation leads to the creation of new, already iconic models: in bottom fishing, Mia Evoluzione and Futura Evoluzione are introduced, in light trolling Colibrì, Fenice, and Veleno, in drifting Honoria Vip, Absolute, and Black Bull. For surfcasting, the three-piece rods Silente and Adrenalina are launched

2021   Federico, Giuliana’s son, joins the company, continuing the family bond within the business

2021-2024   After the pandemic, innovation continues: the PERFETTA line for boat fishing is born and developed, the thinnest in diameter and weight on the global market

The present stems from the past

The connection with the past and the appreciation of one’s history are important aspects for the Artico brand, as they help create an emotional bond with customers and establish a reputation for reliability and quality. By paying tribute to its most valuable asset – its history – Artico shows recognition of its heritage and the importance of preserving the core values that have led to its success.
